The Siege of Jadotville
Ok lesson on some cold war happenings you probably have never heard of.
This is a Netflix original movie about a cold war engagement between UN deployed Irish troops and Congo sponsored mercenaries. The cast is good and the film gives us another example of UN failure and incompetence, however the movie never feels compelling. Its sort of a chore to watch and the cinematography is just awful. Its filmed in “hand held” style and uses this gimmick as a crutch instead of setting up coherent action sequences. I am beginning to realize a “Netflix Original” is this generations “Straight to Video”.
